To reproduce the spectrum of colors we blend 4 main colors: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. The printing term “4/0” refers to these four process colors on the front, and no color (blank) on the back.
Material
16 pt. thick plastic in your chose of finish (clear, frosted or white matte)
Working with clear card material offers options not available with solid plastic cards, including the ability to “control” transparency. Unlike solid plastic cards, clear cards open up a host of design options, including opaque and translucent colors, and the ability to use clear card material as a design accent.
Here are a few basic tips to help in the design of your clear business cards:
- Opaque (solid) colors are achieved by printing a white silkscreen background underneath the color, which also enables double-sided printing on clear cards
- Translucent (semi-transparent) colors are achieved by removing the white silkscreen background, providing a color-tinted look.
- If a frosted finish is utilized, it will add a soft white translucent look to clear portions of the card, as well as a smooth dull texture. Frosted plastic business cards can offer a more refined look and feel.
- With clear business cards, sometimes less crystal clear transparency is most effective. Consider using transparency as an accent to your design. See our gallery for examples.
